In the medium and late 21st century, humanism and personality education became the main trend of thought in education. The new curriculum objective clearly put forward "paying attention to the cultivation of Chinese application , appreciation of the beauty and ability to make an inquiry, promoting the students' balanced and personality development" are the essential idea of the new course reform .The Chinese education plays a leading role in the students' form of healthy and harmonious personality. The Chinese education is a link in the teaching process . It's a necessary part in studying effectively. Effective Chinese education is supposed to promote the realization of the Chinese education objective , to be more exact ,to serve the promotion of the students' personality development.Seen from historic point of view , the imperial exam system which existed in the Sui and Tang Dynasty and the late Qing Dynasty had the fundamental aim of training loyal servants for the feudalistic ruling class. The intellectuals trained in such system lost their personality except few rebels . From the late Qing Dynasty till after liberation , great changes have taken place in the Chinese exam system from content to form. But the Chinese evaluation system is confined to the only means ofevaluation-examination. Influenced by social politics , economy andculture ,and the era's limit of the Chinese teaching objective. The function of exam is alien .The exam as a means has become the purpose .It certainly lacks the function of promoting the personality development . Compared with the contemporary system of American language evaluation ,the Chinese evaluation is paying more attention to the students' all-round development .Promoting emotional attitude, view of value and healthy ,harmonious development of the mental world are the main trend of the development of the Chinese evaluation system .Under the background of the new course reform ,the Chinese evaluation system should be set not only on the experience of the advanced evaluation theoryand practice ,but in conformity with our national conditions.A new Chinese evaluation model is beneficial to the model of personality development .Its educational theory is that the Chinese evaluation is the same important process .They run parallel. It serves one's study and lifelong development .It is the motivation and source of study .The Chinese evaluation should embody the ideas based on human beings, pay close attention to individual unfavorable condition and requirements, respect and embody individual difference and stimulate individual spirit of principal part in order to make each individual mental world develop healthily and harmoniously. The evaluation principle is the interaction of main body, the diversity of evaluation contents and development of evaluation process. The evaluation functions contain that of showing encouragement ,that of self-thought summary ,that of growing up record and that of positive direction .The evaluation links contain (1)determining the evaluation contents and its standard according to the course standard;(2)designing and making various tools of evaluation ,with the evaluation table as a main form ;(3)collecting and analyzing the record and evidence that students' personality has been developed by studying Chinese.(4)promoting clearly the important point of improving students' personality development and working out improving plans .
