As the main method of cultivating the pupil's creative spirit and practical ability, research-based learning has become an important part of the reform on fundamental education and curriculum of our country. In order to make the research-based learning successfully, the teachers should recognize the importance and necessity of the operation of research-based learning and accurately master the contents, ways, models and teaching strategies of it's operation on base of accurate understanding of its essence. This paper discussed the problem with three parts: what is research-based learning? how to develop research-based learning combining the characteristics of chemistry discipline? And what difficulty will appear in the practice of research-based learning? This paper mainly elaborates the specific models and teaching strategies of the research-based learning operation in middle schools.During composing this paper, the author visited the affiliated middle school of Suzhou University, guiding the students to take part in the research-based learning activities. Through the way of getting in touch with and interviewing some students and teachers, the author find out their opinions about research-based learning, and the problems appearing in the specific operation.
