The National English curriculum reform in middle schools has come to another turn , of which the key point lies in the understanding and operating of the curriculum. The teachers as participants, operators, and applicants of it, play an important role in this reform .In the past , the reform of English curriculum in middle schools has never gone as far as pleased . In order to study the implementation of the Junior English curriculum Reform in the eastern area of Qinghai province, by the ways of questionnaire , interviews and attending English classes This paper analyzes the data collected, exploring the problems in this process and puts forward ways to solve them so as to provide background materials for the senior English curriculum in this area.According to the data , English teachers in this area have a better understanding about education and about how to teach their students , and they begin to change their ways and roles in the class. In the past , they simply taught the English language to their students, now they start to pay attention to their students' style and desire of learning the language and try to foster the students ability to study .English teachers start to arrange the teaching process in new ways which interest more of their students .In English classes there are more activities between teachers and students and more students are involved in the teaching process .The new curriculum has changed the teachers' roles and authorities in the class, shortens the gaps between teachers and students , between students and the society and their daily life .Most of the students say that they are more interested and more active inclasses than before .Meanwhile there are some problems in this reform. This paper comprehensively analyzes these problems and puts forward ways of solving them. And all this offers useful materials for the implementation of the new curriculum in Qing hai province and other undeveloped areas in the west of china.
