A Survey And Study On P.E. Teachers Of Junior High School In Zhujiang Delta

It is pointed out in The outline of reform and development on China' s education that "It is relied on education that we develop our nation, and it is relied on teachers that we develop our education. " Therefore, it is the primary task to develop and reform the national education so as to obtain a team of teachers highly-qualified of its proficiency. Zhujiang Delta is one of the first areas to be open and reformed in China. It is comparatively well developed both of the society and its economy. To meet the needs of strategically policy for developing Guangdong by the promotion of its science and technology, also to adapt to the radical change of the modes of its economical development, the Zhujiang Delta must push forward to another stage of reform and development of its education. Thus it has caught our attention to investigate the general condition of the team of P. E. teachers in this area to examine if it fits the development of the local education. The literature review indicates that the studies on public sports and entertaining sports are abundant, while there is not any investigation or analysis on the general condition and the comprehensive quality of P. E. teachers of junior high school. Therefore, this study will be of great significance to the improvement of the quality of teachers' team in this area. Meanwhile, it can help to push forward the reforms on P. E. courses of junior high school in this area. It will also be applicable to set up models for developing physical education in the junior high schools in western and central China.By applying the research methods of literature reviewing,interviewing, discussion, questionnaire, statistic analyzing, logical reasoning, it surveys on P. E. Teachers of Junior High School in Zhujiang Delta and seeks the solutions to the problems found in it. It is shown that: the ratio of the amount of the PE teacher to that of the student in the junior high schools at Zhujiang Delta is 1:226, the ratio of the PE teacher to the class is 1:5, which has satisfied the need for PE teaching and training; however, the ratio of the mail teacher to the female is not reasonable, for the ratio of the female teacher to the total is only 16. 7%; and the teaching staff are mainly young, in which the ratio of the teachers under 30 to the total is 49%, the ratio of the teachers between 41 and 50 is only 8. 41%; the PE teachers who have high degree constitutes 96. 5%, in which the ratio of the teachers with Bachelor Degree or degree higher than that to the total is 80. 7%; the professional title' structure is reasonable, which will be good for continuous development of the teaching staff in middle school; the geographical structure of these teachers tends to be various, and 37. 6% of the PE teachers do not come from Guangdong province, which will do good to the communication and competition among them; the average salary of the PE teachers is 2339, which is over that of the people living in Zhujiang Delta, but the average salary of the PE teachers in different schools and places differs greatly. By investigating and surveying, it is shown that: 1. these teachers' attitude towards their work is good, but the sampling survey shows that 40. 5% of them have a part time job. 2. the knowledge structure of these teachers is not reasonable enough, because they are goodat the knowledge about the practical sports, but not familiar with the biological knowledge, which is not good for us to implement the new PE courses. 3. the teachers' ability to adapt to the society and the professional skills are good, but their abilities to do research, do self-study, etc have not reached the current requirements, which shows that the idea of introducing and employing the PE teachers need change and improvement.For the harmonious overall continuous development of physical education of junior high schools in Zhujiang Delta, and for the fulfillment of the new curriculum of physical education in junior high schools, we must stren IV n the teachers' team in the following ways: Adjust the ideology so a...
