Music is one of the oldest and the most infectious form of art. Music class is an important field of humanities, one of the main avenues of aesthetic education and an obligatory course of basic education. However, the present music education can not meet the needs of the social development and the needs of the times, nor it can improve the music accomplishment of middle school students of the day. So it is very necessary to reform it.To launch information technology education is an important part of modern education and an inevitable course to realize educational modernization. This thesis solved such difficult problems in IT education as why teach, what to teach, how to teach, and how it works. It includes the following contents: the basic connotation, the teaching goal, teaching contents, teaching strategies, teaching assessment of IT education.The first part is the introduction, which presents a brief discourse of the purpose and background of writing this thesis.Firstly, chapter one elaborates the background and meaning of IT education. With the social development, times' changes and human's advance, education has changed four times. After these changes, information technology start to be used in education and thus it propels the development of social productive forces and the advancement of human culture. Music reform becomes imperative under the circumstances of educational transformation. Only by cultivating talents with high qualities and creativity can they adapt themselves to the constantly changing situation. Therefore, to launch IT education has become a very important strategy for all the countries to win the increasingly fierce international competition.Secondly, Chapter Two-a comprehensive account of the research into IT education.This chapter has two parts. The first one deals with the present situation of IT education at home and abroad. Part Two gives an analysis of the present situation's disadvantages and the way of doing away with them-integration.Chapter Three interprets IT education and music course. The first part has a detailed discourse of IT education's connotation, features, defects, goals and teaching contents. The second briefly summarizes music courses' nature and value, basic concept and teaching goal. This part also points out that it's an inevitable trend to wage IT education in an integratedpattern.Chapter Four deals with the integration between music education and information technology. The first part is a brief discourse of the theory base of integrating teaching, and it has an initial analysis of the teaching principle that IT education should be applied in practice. The third part lists the problems of integrating teaching and the solution to them.Chapter Five focus on making a further study of the teaching strategies of integrating teaching. The first part explores the integrating teaching model. In the second part, according to her own teaching experience and others' teaching fruits, the author explores some new teaching methods in middle school education. Both teachers and students make the best use of information technology to improve their music abilities.Chapter Six put forward four principles of integrating teaching assessment and its importance in music education.Finally, there comes the conclusion of the article. The author takes a retrospect as well as a long view towards middle school music education in an era of information.
