This dissertation not only analyses the problems in the continuing education for the primary and junior high school teachers in Tong Nan county, Chongqing but also provide the researchers with practical strategies and counter-plans of this aspect. China has greatly and definitely put forward the establishment of learning communities, and of the model by which teacher wants to become the all-time and lifelong learners. Along with the development of lifelong education and the exaltation of teacher's profession degree, teachers are obliged to be engaged in the courses on the continual education. However, in the poor regions, teachers' continual education has a variety of problems of adaptation in all aspects such as its ideas, systems, modes, contents, means and methods. Above all, teachers are still trudging on the road of the tradition. That's why this dissertation stresses on the carefully study of the continuingl education cases of the primary and junior high school in the poor regions in Tong Nan county, Chongqing.
