A Positive Research On Rural Community Power Structure

Relying on social interaction theory and using questionnaire investigation, depth interview as well as anthropology method, the study discusses the Chinese rural community power structure through the investigation of Huang' of X town in L, Hubei. The study has explored the multi-levelpower structure which is composed of village formal power, informal power andvillage power p ermeated from town government. These power exert different functions in the every-day life in the village. The article consists of six parts.Part one ,as a preface, includes summarizing of theory and the object and method of study, and summarizes the relatable study, and finally poses the logic thinking and study hypothesis.Part two mainly describes the general situation of investigation sample and village elite' basic types and general characteristics ,and sums up the power a ssignment of village elite and the structure type of village power.The third part does research into the inter—dynamic within the village for mal power, and points out that as the real implementation of village committee power assignment within village formal power structure have changed .Part four explores the relations between formal power and informal power, and discusses in detail connections among the components of power structure. It comments exclusively on several cases , finding: the power inter—dynamic bet ween the system elite possessing the village power and the elite outside system possessing the informal power forms the main body of the village power runni ng , and the chess match and interests integration between two are the steady foundation keeping the order of village.Part five describes that because of the government closely related to village power influenced by "achievement standard " it still restrict the operation ofvillage power. Meanwhile the relation between town policy and village management have not been one-way' s directive and obeying but two-way' s inter—dynamic relation.
