The Research On Present Situation Of Physical Education In Special Education Schools In Shanxi Province

This study is to investigate present situation of physical education in special education schools in Shanxi Province and research the situation of physical training and the law of the two kinds of disabled students (person who are blind or deaf) entirely by literature study and inquiring investigation. Through analyzing, this paper will give some advices to the related departments, provide the theoretical reference, and, in a long run, push the physical education reform forward.The main findings are: (1) In Shanxi Province, the teachers doing special education are mainly young and middle-aged. They were mostly graduated from the departments of physical education of Shanxi teacher's colleges (57.14%) , Shanxi athletic sports schools (17.86%) and Pingding Special Teacher's School (25%) , without continued education, and their majors could not fill the needs of special education. So the force of teachers in this field remains to be promoted. (2) The teaching aims are mainly to improve disabled students' body quality, strengthen their moral and mental awareness, and teach them basic knowledge and skills about sports and exercises, but all these teaching items assigned couldn't match well with the training of abilities to adjust to society, the improvement of their mental health, the compensation or remedy to the body function, and the growth of consciousness about physical exercises for life. Via analysis on the different content of the physical education's purposes, we draw the conclusion as follow: one, male students are more like to choose the strong-will training than the female; two, to different grades, junior students get more sports knowledge and skills education; and to the two kinds disabled, the blind gets more training of abilities helping them seasoned in the society than the deaf, while the education to promote the mental health is arranged more for the deaf. (3 ) The teaching contents are mainly made of competitive sports items, such as gymnastics, athletics and basketball. In comparison, they attach less importance to the improvement of body quality and basic knowledge about physical hygiene in the teaching course. By testing the difference in the choice of PE contents, we see that male students are more interested in basketball, while the female lay more enthusiasm to the body-building exercises, dancing and rhythm exercises; to the two kinds of disabled students, more of the blind choose Chinese Wushu, Taiji...
