Turning to 21st century, the economy of China has entered an important stage in which informationization spurs industrialization. Large numbers of qualified persons suited for technology application, producing, serving and managing in the forefront, are needed. Undoubtedly, higher vocational education has reached a fast-developing period and the education and research world has shown solicitude for the problems it has to face. Actually, the heart of these problems is that what is higher vocational education, what kind of people higher vocational schools have to train, and how to train them. All these are the problems of the talent-training mode of higher vocational schools. Therefore, the research of talent-training mode has been the key point in the reform and development of higher vocational schools.This research paper starts with the problems in the talent-training mode of higher vocational education and falls into four parts to analyze them. In the preface, it focuses on the urgency and necessity of the research, the train of thought, methods and values. In the second part, from four angles, that is, purpose of education, pluralism of the subject, levels of the connotation, practicality of the mode, it mainly explains the basic connotation of the talent-training mode of higher vocational education. From three angles, that is, training objectives and standards, teaching contents and training methods, andquality safeguard system, it extracts the development of the connotation of higher vocational education. By contrast of ways of achieving the training objectives, knowledge construction, quality and ability training, talent-training mode between undergraduate education and vocational education, it distillates the main characteristics of higher vocational education, that is, market-orientation, ability standard, simultaneous development of learning and practice, and combineness of production, learning and research, and summarizes the essential elements and practice system of the talent-training mode of higher vocational education. In the third part, it compares, analyzes and summarizes the common features of the three foreign popular talent-training modes of vocational education, namely, CBE mode, two-element mode, MES mode. In addition, it goes over the talent-training modes of higher vocational education in our country and introduces the practice experience and the problems of the four main talent-training modes, that is, five periodic returns higher vocational training mode, production and learning combineness mode, job-oriented talent-training mode and order talent-training mode. The fourth part is the goal of this research paper. On the basis of the five problems of talent- training modes of higher vocational education in Yunnan province, it puts forward six tactics for constructing the talent-training modes of higher vocational education in Yunnan province, namely, offering market- and-profession- oriented specialties, formulating training objectives on the basis of the aim of training talented people of higher vocational education, making teaching plans which aims at developing professional ability and comprehensive quality, setting up curriculum system according to the training objectives and standards, forming teaching practice system to combine the three areas of production, learning and research, and building groups of bi-ability teachers to foster the ability of technology application. The author hopes to supply reference for the reform of the talent-training modes of higher vocational education in Yunnan province.
