The High School Attached to Hunan Normal University is one model high school which leads to curriculum reform in high schools. It focuses on developing and improving characteristic school-based curriculum. From this article, the writer tries to discover some rules and problems during this process and the solutions as well, by investigating, researching and analyzing.There are four parts in all. The first section is about the theoretical basis of school-based curriculum development and argues that it is necessary and important to reform in practice. The second section shows what has been done so far, including its origin, programs and results. The third one is the feedback on the new curriculum from some students. It describes the specially designed investigating papers which are used to collect different opinions about the reformation and the statistics together with the analysis of the results. The last part is the further reflection on the school-based curriculum development by the experience of this school. Here the writer stresses the connections between the reform and students, teachers, schools, the society and so on, which are based on the investigating results and the writer's own opinion.
