When people are enjoying the highly development of material civilization brought by industrial revolution and modern technology during this century, people found suddenly that we are facing the threat made by ourselves. We have to do something to make science, technology, society(STS) develop harmonious.This paper based on the survey of STS education infiltrated into teaching and learning physics in five senior middle schools in Yueyang city , Hunan province in 2004, introduced the concept of STS education, the development of STS education abroad and in china, discussed the historical background and reasons of STS education, provided the basis of STS education. According to the influence of science and technology to society, based on pedagogics , educational psychology and moral philosophy, demonstrated that it is necessary to infiltrate STS into physics education, discussed what and how to infiltrate it.At last , This paper drew a conclusion of the study, and gived my opinion on how to do it. But this paper is just a initial try. The deeper research depends on the practice of teaching on the future.
