In the end of the 20th century, people see Chinese language teaching as " embarrassment of the end of the century " and call that education should "recast the soul of learning", "foster humanity", various critics and censures appear one after another, particularly, it is a matter of common occurrence that university students', graduate students' failure to pass Chinese language tests is often reported in newspaper, Students' Chinese language level going down commonly and the high consumption but low validity of language classroom teaching is already an undisputable fact. To this, Chinese language educational circles made an active and many-sided response and introspection. How to raise our efficiency and benefits is the key to this problem.The principle of "effective teaching" which originated from the Western countries in the first half of the 20th century, re- examines the whole process of Chinese language classroom teaching very well, and finds problems and put forward measures to improve them, to change the embarrassing phenomenon: "little, slow, bad, waste" of Chinese language teaching, thus to raise the efficiency and benefits of the Chinese language classroom teaching. In the process of researching, I mainly adopted the forms of questionnaires, sample analysis, individual case analysis, interview, observation etc.This article introduces the principle of "effective teaching" first, and gives a brief account of the domestic and international research condition state, consulting and following this theory it examines the current situation of Chinese classroom teaching, reveals the striking problem of "high input, low output", then inquiries into the causes of this problem.
