The research is based on some well—known conclusions as well as the talks on special topics and researches on documents. Having done a survey about the burnout condition among the teachers in charge of class (short for ICOC teachers) in high school in Jilin City, we have had a preliminary study on it and meanwhile offered some strategies which can relieve burnout. We aim at coming up with some ideas for the development of the ICOC teachers, hoping to improve the quality of teachers'career life and the teaching quality. And the same time, we hope our research will be able to help the other groups do the further study.The results of the research are as follows:First, on the whole, to the teachers in high school in Jilin City (including ICOC teachers), burnout is common, but not very serious. All the teachers more or less burn themselves out. But the ICOC teachers'emotional exhaustion is much more serious than that of non-ICOC teachers.Second, to some extend, sexual distinction is connected with burnout. Women teachers face much more burnout than men teachers; women are even easier to exhaust their emotion than men.Third, burnout is connected with the grades in which the ICOC teachers are. From grade one to grade three in junior school, ICOC teachers'burnout will increase, while from grade one to grade three in high school, burnout will decrease.Fourth, burnout with low efficacy is connected with the length of service as a teacher. A teacher of less than 5 years'standing has higher efficacy than the one with 11-15 years'standing; the same goes for a teacher of 16-20 years'standing to one with 6-10 years'standing, 11-15years'and 21-25 years'.Fifth, the reason why a person becomes a teacher has some effects on burnout and emotional exhaustion. A person whose only choice is to be a teacher has more burnout than the one whose dream is to be a teacher. And a person who is influenced by one or several teachers has less burnout.Sixth, the reason why a teacher becomes an ICOI teacher is connected with burnout. A teacher who offers to be an ICOC teacher has lower burnout than the one who accepts the job unwillingly. The teachers who have to be ICOC teachers have higher burnout than the ones who become teachers for some other reasons.Last, teaching self-efficacy is inversely proportional to burnout with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low efficacy. As a result, teaching efficacy can adjust burnout somehow.
