Burnout refers to such negative symptoms as fatigue both in psychology and in physiology, decrease in working abilities, loss of enthusiasm in working, gradual apathy towards others and little feeling for success in working, etc.Teacher burnout is induced by extreme reaction of unsmooth dealing with working pressure, and that is a kind of prostrate state in mood, attitude and behavior caused by long-term pressure. As part of the teachers, physical education teachers share common features with the other teachers. Therefore, it is believed that physical education teacher burnout means extreme reaction of unsmooth dealing with working pressure, which is a kind of prostrate state in mood, attitude and behavior caused by long-term pressure in practice.Burnout among physical education teachers has not only impacted the teaching quality in physical education on a large scale, but also has imposed great harm towards the teachers both in body and in mind; in the meanwhile, as direct teaching subjects, students become victims of burnout among physical education teachers. For the reasons above, research on burnout among physical education teachers will be significant. Based on the previous researches, the writer of this thesis has made a survey of the status of burnout among physical education teachers in middle schools in Chongqing. There are comparisons among groups in junior middle schools, those in senior middle schools and those with both junior and senior students, further interviews in those schools bearing relatively high burnout scores, analyses and investigations towards the impacting factors, and then the strategies for abating the teacher burnout have been given out.This research applies the Teachers' burnout questionnaire to have an investigation on the burnout of the P.E teachers at middle school in Chongqing, with the findings that(1)the P.E teachers at middle school in Chongqing the mean & STDV on the Emotion Exhaustion, depersonalization, and the sense of achievement of are respectively 3.32±0.43, 2.83±0.57, 3.12 ±0.40, therefore, the emotion exhaustion level is a little high, the depersonalization is mach higher; (2) About there 3 levels, the PE teacher at Junior high meanwhile at senior high school...
