Employment is an essence for every individual of a nation and the development of national economy. It is also the base for the construction of a prosperous nation, the target of our nation. The employment of college graduates is closely related to the interests of the graduates themselves as well as the development of colleges. The issue used to be and will still be a big concern not only for the government and the Party, but also for the whole society. The college graduates' employment system has been improved from the traditional " sole governmental control" to "guided by market, adjusted by authorities, recommended by institutions, interactive choice between employers and employees" as the reform of higher education progresses. The system activating the enthusiasm of teaching and the motive of learning in school matches to Socialism Market Economy and the development of high education properly. Whereas, career consultancies does not grow mature in China. Researches of theories in this area are still in need. The practices of consultancies, focusing on graduates mostly, are monotones and have lagged behind the development of the society and current situation of employment. Thus, studies and researches for strategies of career consultancies under the new situation should be urged so as to serve properly for the development of national economy and the interests of graduates. The paper discusses the issue in 3 aspects, 1. analyze the concept and the connotation of career consultancies based on comparisons with that in developed areas such as the Europe and the America ; 2. how to promote the practice of consultancies and help graduates well-prepared for career choosing by researching on factors that influence their job-hunting, such as impact of social environment, education in school, family and individual factors; 3. models and theories of career consultancies, contents of consulting practices, building of consultant teams, consulting practice on internet, and monitor model of career consultancies, etc.
