| Since the 1980s, the emphasis of education in our nation has experienced a change from emphasizing knowledge to capability then to comprehensive capability. This indicates that our education is much more accordant to its essence than ever before and indicates that we have grasped the main contradiction influencing the quality of education. The reform of our higher education has witnessed a conversion from the innovation of management system to the adjustment of the structure of disciplines and specialties. Only through the innovation of the undergraduate education model, can universities and colleges foster innovative talents of high quality who are needed by our society. So, the model reform of undergraduate education is the inevitable demand of knowledge economy, economy globalization and the popularization of higher education.Using the methodologies of document, investigation, logic inference and model research, from the logical start point "what kind of talents should be cultivated in the specialty of physical education" , this thesis analyzed the characteristics of the specialty of P. E;analyzed the elements of the undergraduates' specialty capability and comprehensive capability who major in the specialty of P. E and the relationship between them;analyzed the conception, foundations and elements for the model. As a solution, this thesis constructed a model for the comprehensive ability of the undergraduates majoring in P. E by means of: the reset of cultivation goal, the rearrangement of courses, the reform on teaching methods, the optimization of non-teaching approaches,and the arrangement of social practice. The results of the research are: to cultivate senior P. E talents with solid specialty capabilities as well as comprehensive capabilities;to increase the ratio of electives and to decrease that of required courses, to strengthen academic curricula and to lessen athletic curricula, to integrate core curricula, to standardize electives, to establish new curricula, to make curricula abbreviated and elastic;to make the teaching methods more scientific, systemic, comprehensive, multiple, patulous, modern, professional and pedagogic;to reform the methods of enrollment and to raise the standards of enrollment, to reform the methods of examination so as to strengthen the students' motivation of learning, to strengthen the construction of campus culture and teaching staff so as to optimize the environment of education;to work out scientific scheme for social practice and to constitute reasonable evaluation system. |
