The ministry of education promulgated Curriculum Schemes of High School (provisional) and curriculum standards of 15 subjects on March 31st, 2003, which symbolizes the development of high school education had come into a new phase. The Curriculum Standard of Technology in High School is also included in the 15 subjects. It is the first time for China to regard a technological subject as equal as other subjects and put forward its curriculum standard.In the standard of new curriculum, to improve the students'information literacy is the general aim of teaching information and technology in high school. A correct understanding of the concept and aim of the standard of new curriculum and a mastery of the ways, goals and contents of information and technological subject are the premise for us to implement the curriculum reform. In teaching information and technological subject, as information literacy becomes more and more important, discussions on this subject is a focus for people's research in theory and practice. As a teacher of information and technology, it is my duty to study and make clear the definition of information literacy so as to find out the best way to nurture students'information literacy. Therefore, I choose this topic to promote further development of theoretical and practical research in teaching information and technology.This paper is composed of four parts. The first chapter deals with the background and concept of the standard of new curriculum in high school which is for the rejuvenation of Chinese nation and for the development of every student. This basic value indicates a turn in the curriculum system of our elemental education. High school education should be inspected from different aspects including social development, students'needs and the newest trend in international curriculum reform so as to establish advanced concept in high school education and enhance the reform.The second chapter analyses the curriculum reform of information and technological teaching from the aspects of the background of the reform, the history and the development of this subject.
