A Study Of Life Education In Middle And Primary School In Taiwan

Life education is an educational trend emerging during latter half of the 20th century. Life education is trying to make students recognize, respect, and cherish life. In 1997, life education was implemented in Taiwan in junior high schools, and then it was extended to high education and primary education. So far, Taiwan has gained rich experience and fruitful achievements. Researching on the development of life education in Taiwan has positive revelation to Chinese Mainland that is implementing life education today.The thesis consists of five parts:Introduction, the reasons of research, brief contents of research, and research methods are concerned.Chapter 1 introduces the implementing of life education in the whole world, traces back the developing courses of life education in Taiwan.Chapter 2 explores the theory foundation of life education. It consists of the following aspects: the concept of life; death education and life & death education; concept, trend, meaning, and objectives of life education, etc.Chapter 3 turns to the life education practice. It draws the outline of life education practice in Taiwan: administrative supports, curriculum and teaching materials, implementing, teacher training, etc. The problems emerged during the implementation of life education are also presented.Chapter 4, after introducing Chinese Mainland's current implementing condition of life education, the thesis takes Taiwan's experience as the foundation, and offers some revelations to Chinese Mainland's life education practices.
