With the reformation of curriculum, chemical experiments become important contents carried out resolutely in curriculum's device, textbook's compilation and teaching practices. In order to carry out experimental teaching effectively, we should pay more attention to teachers' research abilities. However, at present their research level is unsatisfactory. There are many problems still. For instance, issues are unscientific and repetitive, means and skills are old and single and so on.A survey has been made to look into the present chemical experiment research of middle school. The finding shows that teachers know little about method of test design. The percentage of the teachers who expert in method of simple comparison is 9% and in orhogonal design is only 1.2%. This phenomena results in the ineffective and unscientific research of chemical experiments of middle school. At the same time, we made a statistics of Chemistry Teaching and Chemistry Education. The statistics displays that there are many articles about experiments and the experiment conditions but few used method of test design. However, the method of test design is very important on leading us to search for the best experimental conditions, especially on improving efficiency and scientific element.Application of the method of test design is introduced in this article. We introduce the method of test design frequently used including methods of all-round comparison, optimization, simple comparison and orhogonal design. The result's analysis of orhogonal design is very bothersome, so we introduce the application of a software called orhogonal design helper which can make the result's analysis easier.
