| Since the system of lecture-by-class was put into practice in middle schools, there have been in the class various informal junior groups which, as an inevitable phenomenon, form the basis of human relations in the class. It evolves with the proceeding of class building and is not likely to vanish entirely even after the formation of the class collective. It plays an important role in harmonizing the interpersonal relations in the class. Therefore those informal junior groups play important roles in the process of turning a class into a real collective, which is the eventual target of class building.Influenced by traditional test-oriented education, people always like to deal with those informal groups in a simple imperative way and intend to look those groups as destructive, ignoring the positive roles they play. This somewhat reduces the effectiveness of education management.The article first makes a concise analysis on the reason and the realistic significance of the research. Based on comprehensive application of multi-subject theories and theories on class building, it defines some core concepts as formal and informal groups, junior informal groups, class and class collective, building of class collective, etc. Then the article generalizes the relevant documentations both home and abroad. It points out the weak areas of the research nationwide and puts forward the theoretical conception on the roles the informal junior groups play in building a class collective.The researcher randomly chooses three classes of different grades as subjects, takes self-designed Informal Junior Group Questionnaire and Quiz on Interpersonal Relations based on Moreno's social surveying and uses the talking method to discusswith their class adviser, some other teachers, members of class committees, various activists, common students and relevant students' parents about their ordinary behavior at school. The research focuses on the formation situation of the junior informal groups including: the cause of formation of informal groups, mode of decision-making, content of activities, their identity to the class, study atmosphere, contacts, cohesive force, natural leaders. It also makes profound analysis on the formation process, causes, characteristics and natures of the junior informal groups. Based on this, the researcher performs an all-round study on roles of informal junior groups in building a class collective. Taking into account practical experience in class management, the researcher further analyzes some individual cases.The article finally concludes: (1) The influence of the informal junior groups on the building of class collective is featured by stages. (2) The informal junior groups affect the building of class collective either positively or negatively. Suggestions are made accordingly: eliminate misunderstanding and prejudice and recognize the impersonal existence of the informal junior groups in a correct way;distinguish between informal groups of different natures and take pointed principles and methods to deal with them;reform those informal junior groups into correct rail;take care to educate and reform the core figures of the informal groups;strengthen the building of class collective to accommodate those informal groups. In the process of building a class collective, the groups in the class should form the state of mutual tolerance, aid and advancement, consequently the formation of forces of the collective building. In the process of building a class collective, we should find the sources of informal groups in the class and form the individuality of collective building. |
