Our urbanization has been on the phase of accelerating development. With the economic development and further deepen reform, there will be more rural population move to the urban, which making a magnificent population urbanization tide. However, accompanied by population urbanization, the difference between the rural and the urban still expanding and the rural-urban dual structure still strengthening, in such times background and the "Eleventh Five-Year" important strategic period of development, along the perspective of urban-rural differential effects of population urbanization, it has extremely important theoretical and practical significance to study the differential effects on age structure and employment of population urbanization between the rural and the urban.Taking scientific development view as guidance, integrated using theory of human geography and demography, research methods of empirical research and normative research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, the questionnaires, interviews, and SPSS, GIS technical means, mainly through the data of the fifth census and other related socio-economic statistics of China, on the basis of a large number of quantitative and qualitative analysis, this dissertation analyzes the age structure and employment differential characteristics of rural-urban migration, then explores differential effects on age structure and employment aspects of population urbanization between the rural and the urban. This dissertation also makes an empirical study based on the sampling survey data and special interview information about Xuzhou city in August 2005, comparing to the national study, so we can aware the differential effects of population urbanization between the rural and the urban much deeper. Finally, on the basis of the above study, this dissertation integrates the differential effects with the urban and rural development, and explores strategies of urban and rural harmonious development of China.The study consists of six chapters:Chapter I: Prolegomena.This chapter focuses on the background and significance of the study, comments on the relevant theories, gives a brief statement on the conceptions, finally introduces research methods, research contents and framework of the theory analysis.Chapter II: The Differential Characteristics of Urban and Rural Population Age Structure.Based on the population census and sample survey of historical data, this chapter...
