A Research On The Model Of The Nongovernmental Higher Education And The Evaluation Method Of The Quality

Nongovernmental education in China is being recovered and developed as a result of the economic reforms and opening up policy. It is rapidly growing in various ways, among which nongovernmental higher education, namely nongovernmental colleges, has been the most prominent. In 2004, there were 1,664 schools of different types boasting the on-campus students as many as 1.396 million. These schools have played a vital role in the field of higher education, undertaking adequate amount of teaching task; however, the guidelines on nongovernmental education and academic research are not sufficient to meet the growing requirements of nongovernmental education.First we introduce the background and current status of nongovernmental higher education at home and abroad. After analyzing and comparing the nongovernmental schools at home with those abroad, we present the developing trend and series of problems involved in the nongovernmental higher education of our country. Then, we present an asymptotic model of running nongovernmental schools basing on analyzing our country several model of running nongovernmental schools, and we study the idea of the investors, from the relation of conducting thought, running pattern, scale and teaching quality, together with the promotion function of social and area economy. We discuss the quality evaluation. As a result, we present the common process, design a quality evaluation system, and illuminate the working principle and the criterion set of the system. This quality evaluation system is based on integrated methods such as NN, which provides effect theory foundation and practice guidance for the final independent development of the nongovernmental colleges. Finally, taking Sontan College for example, we study the flaws existed in the developing mode and development of the nongovernmental higher education and then present its developing direction.
