Content:The raise of primary teachers' professional qualities can assure the improvement of the primary teachers' status quo and the successful implementation of the quality-oriented education, which are hopefully to enhance the quality of national citizens and ultimately revitalize our country.However, the current number of teachers who are willing to devote their whole lives to education is very small. Moreover, the teachers' professional quality is too poor to meet our times' need. For instance, the teachers' professional awareness is relatively weak; their educational ideas are very old; the modem educational technology is not adequate; the teachers are not familiar with new courses and research, etc.There're several countermeasures to improve the above situations. First, the raise of the teachers' welfare, the restructure of the teachers' evaluation system and the strengthening of humane care towards them are all doomed to inspire their activeness. Second, the education department should support the medium normal schools' education and emphasize the education towards the on-the-job teachers. Last but not least, the teachers should improve their own professional quality and cultivate the enthusiasm to learn till death. In a word, the above measures are all aimed at cultivating more and more new eligible teachers to transfer the basic education to quality-oriented education from previous exam-oriented one.
