Many of the texts in the textbook of middle school are literature works, some are even excellent ones. These works are full of its deeply thought and colorful and rich languages. It's their characteristic in common. But in Chinese teaching, there exists a situation in which teachers pay no attention to the characteristics of different types of the works. The analysis of this situation will be benefit to the teaching concept , teaching method and even the teaching models. So this thesis puts forward the theory of teaching on different types according to the idea of developing teaching, constructional learning-method and the new curriculum. And the same time , it researches the teaching of poem, prose, novel and play(the four different types of literature) according to their different characteristics.It is textbook and students that are the bases of the research of the Chinese teaching in middle schools. The arrangement of the textbook depends on their different types. In teaching, teachers teach their students according to the characteristics of different types. Thus, the students can master the characteristics and writing skills of different works more easily so as to solve the problems in writing. The writer takes Lanfei Middle-school for instance, not only makes questionnaire but investigates and researches the sense of active participating. Furthermore, the writer analyses the features of the reform of the arrangement of the types of literature in the four different textbooks adopted by Gansu Province in recent years.Personally, the writer thinks that teaching in different ways is very important, while the practice of it is more important. During this period, we need some guiding principles and effective and scientific strategies. There are mainly 4 principles in innovation. First of all, the students must be the subject. Second, when appreciating a literature works, we should treat it as a whole. Third, we must pay attention to accumulation and conformity. Fourth, we should pay more attention to students' sense of finding and their spirit of innovation. On the basis of the 4 principles mentioned above, this thesis puts forward a new strategy of the teaching mainly on poetry, prose, novel and play.This new teaching method is an experiment in which teachers pay more attention to students' development and the ability of innovation. It is proved that all the researches on this question are effective. The teaching principle, teaching model and teaching strategy have great significance for promoting the reform of the new teaching method, and consequently, explore a new way for Chinese teaching.
