The Application Of Strategic Management Thinking In The Building Of University Faculty

With the transformation of society and deepening of educational reform, the environment home and abroad bring forth new requirements for the reform and development in our higher education. As one of the most important aspects, the building of faculty should be paid sufficient attention to.The basic way to solve the problem at home and abroad is to make a program for the construction of a consistent faculty with high quality. However, such construction in our country are faced with many problems. The present research investigates the related theory home and abroad and finds that they cannot solve the problems in our country though they can be used for reference. So the present research puts forward a new pattern of management—strategic management, in order to resolve the problems in our country. The thesis discusses the connotation of strategic management, the differences between strategic management and other theories and the possibility and necessity of the application of strategic management.In order to verify the present value of strategic management, the thesis analyzes the building plan of the faculty in J university and identifies the existing problems and its causes: the university lacks a kind of more ideal management pattern—the strategic management, and more fundamentally, the excellent management pattern doesn't be promoted to ideology, be internalized to be inside demands and be applied to guide practice.So, the value in application of strategic management in the building of faculty in university is certain. From this point of view, the present thesis advances initiative reform that the notion of strategic management is to be applied to guide the higher education faculty construction, which involves reform in the faculty construction of J University and further clarification of its connotation as well.
