The reform of the textbook is the important part of foundation education reform in our country, because of our country region vast and economic development unbalance and educational level also different. The textbook is the embodiment of the nation's will and is the means that carries out the teaching target. To the student and the teacher, the textbook is the most important reference to use a book in the teaching.The background of this thesis is that an education reform has been already carried out and the new teaching outline has been already promulgated and the art standard textbooks have been already used. The thesis studies the design content of course in primary and junior high schools art textbook in our country. It puts forward some advice of editing art textbook. The substance of the thesis is the research of evaluating to the textbook contents.The thesis tries to find out the regulation and method to write the design content of course of art textbook. It is divided into four chapters totally. Firstly, in Chapter One, it mainly elaborates the concept and theories of teaching material, textbook, art textbook, design, design education etc., and overviews the domestic research present condition in this realm. Secondly, in Chapter Two, it mainly describes the history development of design content of course of art textbook in our country, and introduces the art textbook of Taiwan, Hong Kong. Thirdly, in Chapter Three, it analyses the style structure, subject, characteristics etc. in that art standard textbooks are published by Zhejiang People's Fine Arts Publishing House and People's Fine Arts Publishing House (Beijing). Fourthly, in Chapter Four, it puts forward principle and idea of construction of design content of course in art textbook, and programs the contents of each grade, and designs some text examples. Finely, It makes summary to this research, and points out the art textbook a development trend.
