SWOT Analysis On The Development Strategy Of Higher Vocational Colleges

The SWOT environment analysis method is suitable for enterprise's strategic environmental analysis generally. The analysis methods used in the dissertation include SWOT, AHP, and questionnaire. These methods are all different from the conventional environmental analysis approach that they deal with the internal and external environments. The analysis method finds out four indispensable factors including Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats from the complex environmental factors by analyzing the internal and external environments of the higher vocational college. This article takes the example of the higher vocational college of Xi'an University of Architecture & Technology. By using the method of the crossed and combined analysis and matrix model, and so on, this article affirms the strategic key point of the higher vocational college corrects and perfects this Strategic key point for making the strategic aims. The application of the SWOT analysis method can not only help to make up the strategic key point of the higher vocational college, but also to locate its right position in the industry.Higher vocational college of Xi'an university of Architecture & Technology is a typical College taking the civil construction disciplines as characterization, it is representative using the method of SWOT to formulate development strategy. In the process of formulating development strategy of higher vocational college, the analysis of internal & external environment is serves for decision-making plan of the school. The article builds combinations of internal strengths & weaknesses and external opportunities & threats and strategic plan by the methods of SWOT crossed combination and crossed function, matrix and so on. This way may highlight the main function of the college main internal & external environment for formulating the strategic plan. This article which has the overall planned function for long-term survival and development of Higher vocational college of Xi'an university of Architecture & Technology, meanwhile which has imitate and reference value to a certain degree to how the higher vocational college to develop in the complex external environment of the higher educational trades. In brief, this article practical work proof that the SWOT method may used in formulating the development strategic plan of the higher vocational college, and this method is better and easier to use. The complete set of methods and the software tool which this article proposed have the value of application and promotion in the formulating the development strategic plan of every higher vocational college.
