The colleges and universities of Wuhan city has a long history of setting up highly-skilled basketball teams, and during this course , they have got some achievements。However , they are still some problems and weaknesses。The thesis studies the important factors which influence the training by means of consulting some experts on basketball , who hold identical views that the training are mainly affected by the training target , the source of students , the selection and employment of the coach , the conflict between teaching and training , management , rear service guarantee as well as the employment for the basketball players。In response , the author studies the current conditions about the training。The result shows the following problems :1. The training targets are not definite.2. The enrollment for the highly-skilled players is very limited.3. We don′t select or employ a coach in a scientific way.4. The conflict between teaching and training hasn′t been resolved properly.5. We are not strict enough with these players.6. The rear service guarantee is very poor. The author comes up with some solutions aimed at these problems and gives some advice based on our current condition : the training target should be consistent with the target offered by State Education Commission and State Commission for sports , we should set strict limits on the source of the players; basketball training system and competition system should be improved; management should be normalized; the credit system should be implemented; the rear service mechanism should be perfected; we should concentrate on professional education and build a vast range of prospects for employment.
