Ancient Chinese poetry and prose are an important part of the language reading materials in the Chinese language teaching for senior middle school. It is the crystallization of excellent Chinese traditional culture as well as the important carrier of emotional education. But it is restricted by the oriented-examination education. There were two trends in the ancient Chinese poetry and prose teaching in senior middle school .One is that teachers pay much attention to "the words" instead of "the article"; the other is that teachers pay more attention to "the article" than "personality". Ancient Chinese poetry and prose just become classical Chinese teaching material, whose literary factors and functions of emotion education were ignored. And students just passively read and appreciate ancient Chinese poetry and prose. As a result students don't accumulate rich knowledge about Chinese poetry and prose.The paper advocates that in teaching of reading course about ancient Chinese poetry and prose reading and appreciation in senior middle school, teachers should give the rein to functions of fusing emotion education, make good use of rich and deep emotion factors in the ancient Chinese poetry and prose, guide students to experience and understand popular feelings, human sympathy, human natures as well as the truth, goodness and beauty in the works, and learn to use of historic view and modern idea to appreciate and appraise the thoughts and feelings ofancient Chinese poetry and prose. To accomplish combination of ancient Chinese poetry and prose and emotion education, teachers should begin with designing in advance the objectives of emotion field in the course of teaching, set up the class teaching model which is full of emotional, and select teaching strategies in order to arouse the fervor of actively reading and appreciating ancient Chinese poetry and prose ,and make students achieve "the three dimension objectives" in reading and appreciating activities, which are knowledge and skill, process and method, emotion, attitude and value. The thesis also shows the outside supporting conditions of the emotion education for reading and appreciating the ancient Chinese poetry and prose for senior middle school, namely, selecting and compiling techniques in emotion field of reading materials about ancient Chinese poetry and prose, teachers' own attainment of ancient Chinese poetry and prose; and the appraising teaching methods of reading and appreciating ancient poetry and prose.
