A Study On Subjective Well-being Of The Women Left In Rural Areas

The women left in rural areas while their husbands have gone out for jobs in city areas are a special group along with populations shift since reforming and opening in China. The rural women in rural areas assume the responsibilities of the productive labor and the upbringing and support of a family alone that should be undertaken by the couple. The research about the subjective well-being of the women left in rural areas contributes to raise their living quality and reveals the characteristic that the harmonious society makes people the center of essence characteristic.This thesis tries to research the women left in rural areas in a village which lies in the north of Anhui province. The thesis studies their subjective well-being through questionnaire and individual case, and understand their total condition and impact factor of subjective well-being. Results of the research reveals:1. Seeing from the total circumstance, the women's left in rural areas subjective well-being is high.2. The women's left in rural areas who is between twenty to twenty-nine subjective well-being is obviously lower than the women's left in rural areas who is above thirty subjective well-being.3. The women's left in rural areas education is higher, their subjective well-being is lower.4. The women's left in rural areas family economic condition is better, their subjective well-being is higher.5. The women's left in rural areas healthy condition is better, their subjective well-being is higher.6. The women left in rural areas are more satisfied to the neighborhood relation, their subjective well-being is higher.7. Core family and expanded family obviously influence the women's left in rural areas subjective well-being.8. Since the husbands have gone out for a job, the women's left in rural areas getting along with their kids and husband's parents has not great varieties. But those women's left in rural areas getting along with their kids become easily, their subjective well-being becomes highly; the women's left in rural areas subjective well-being who getting along with their husbands parents has no variety is higher than that who getting along with their husbands parents has some varieties.Finally, the results, problems and future research directions are discussed to help the follow-up study.
