It is the first time in the mathematics curriculum reform of elementary education that the pilot mathematics textbooks for elementary schools have included some contents of statistics and probability. As the final performers of the new curriculum, question of teachers in statistics and probability teaching bears upon the further deepening of curriculum reform. However, there is little study in it at present. Therefore, the study in questions of statistics and probability in teaching in elementary mathematics is significant and necessary.This paper has done some research on the mathematics teachers of the primary school in ChongQing by means of questionnaire investigations, interview and observance in real class. This paper mainly includes two parts: 1. Analysis on the specific goals and requirement to the statistics and probability. 2. The questions of statistics and probability teaching in elementary mathematics.Conclusions drawn through the analysis: 1) Teachers have difficulties in preparations for teaching.2) The activities can't be organized easily in class. 3) Those who teach statistics and probability as a total are very little. 4) The exercises of materials are much more difficult. 5) The rural teachers can't carry out CAI because of no condition. 6) The rural teachers have more difficulties in dealing with the textbook materials.Attributive analysis aiming these questions: Teachers have no experiments of teaching statistics and probability, what's more, their knowledge of statistics and probability is not enough. 2) The teachers who take part in the writing materials of teaching is very little. 3) Teaching cases and materials aren't improved enough. 4) The rural materials in the textbook are not enough.This paper makes some thinking and suggestions on the mathematics curriculum standard of fulltime compulsory education, textbook and the training teachers.
