On Case Teaching Utilization In Moral Class Of Middle Vocational Education

This article attempted to study the utilization of the case teaching method in moral class of middle vocational school, from the pedagogy and the psychology field of vision. The article is about how to carry out case teaching and how to choose case for middle vocational moral education. Through theoretical analysis and action research, the article drew the following three conclusions. The first is that the tradition of moral education in middle vocational schools, the cultivation objects and the features of middle vocational students all illustrate that it is necessary to the make use of case teaching in middle vocational moral education. The second one is that the case teaching in middle vocational moral education should take promoting students'moral development and realizing their moral transfer as basic aim and include preparation before class, implementation during class and evaluation after class. To prepare for class, teachers should engage in knowing students, designing targets, familiarizing cases, selecting organization and deciding showing style. During the class teachers should take the following eight tasks: demonstrating learning targets, introducing cases, organizing discussion, encouraging students to generalize moral rules, summarizing cases, leading students to practice moral rules, summing up the whole class and assign case learning work. To evaluate the class, teachers should assess if the teaching objects have been achieved, if the cases are neat, how about the mutual acting among teacher and students and how about the class rhythm and discipline. The last conclusion is the principles and standards that are induced by the author. (1) To choose cases for middle vocational moral education, teaching objects and students'moral developing level should all be considered. (2) The cases should come from students'living environment; in order to be touched and transferred by students they should be typical and fashionable. (3) The cases should give rise to students'inner strong moral conflicts, shoot at critical point of the students'moral development and promote students'moral development to the largest degree.
