Content: Nowadays, the economy of the world has become a knowledge-oriented one. It is believed that the more knowledge we have, the more advantageous we will be in the fierce competition. The whole country's hope lies in the education quality, which depends much on the teacher. Hence, it is unavoidable for us to promote the teacher's professional development in order to improve our country's education quality and to further develop our education itself. This deed conforms with the demand of the country to the teacher profession. How to promote the teacher's professional development is an objective question that can not be ignored.The teacher's professional development now is not confined in the teacher's training any more; instead, it emphasizes the process of the teacher's growth through their own active pursuit of their professional development. The study aims at helping the teacher cultivate the consciousness of independent development and putting forwards the measures to promote the teacher's professional development.The literature research shows that the Teachers'professional development consists of individuality and universality.So the article will study from the perspectives of both the school organization and the teachers.For theoretical support, the author mostly refers to the teachers'professional development theory, knowledge management theory,dialogue theory, constructivism studying theory, as well as reflective teaching theory. Carried out by the methods of analyzing references, giving out questionnaire, having interview etc., this paper meant to explore the effective strategies for the application of knowledge management to promote the professional development of the teachers in the primary and middle schools. Hence from the perspectives of both the school organization and the teachers themselves, this article focuses on four facets of knowledge management, namely, the establishment of its consciousness, its principles and instruments, as well as the concrete application methods, to discuss the strategies for promoting the teachers'professional development.With the limitation of time, the research doesn't achieve an in-depth discussion in view of the various influential elements of knowledge management on the teachers'professional development, as well as its evaluation criterion system upon the abilities of the teachers in primary and middle school. Consequently, there is much room for further improvement.
