In this paper, we mainly used literature methods and comparison methods. On the base of defining"value"and"value orientation", it analysised the value of geography course in middle school in china, and then specifically analysised the "Geography Education International Charter" and geography curriculum standards in developed countries in the world. We took the geography questions in the college entrance examination as the entrance to analysis the value orientation of basic geographic education, then it analysised the historical and recent satuation.After the above analysis and choosing the representative geography questions,it summed up the value orientation of basic geographic education.The study was composed of two parts:In the part one of the paper, we defined"value"and"value orientation",analysised the "Geography Education International Charter" and geography curriculum standards in developed countries in the world. The core of the value orientation of geography course in middle school in china was summed up as that the modern citizen must prepare geographical literacy,and then summed up geographical literacy.In the part two of the paper, we took the geography questions in the college entrance examination in resent years to analysis the value orientation of basic geographic education detailly.We expounded the value orientation of basic geographic education embodying in the geography questions in the college entrance examination, such as geography subject knowledge , geography subject ability, geography scientism, geography viewpoint, geography mental consciousness.
