With the further development of the new round curriculum reform of the basic education, the understanding of the Middle School Physics study assessment has changed in nature. Much more attention has been given to the all-round development of the students, the cordinated growth of the knowledge and the skill, the process and the method, the emotion and the attitude as well as the world value. The summative assessment, which evaluates the students only by examination results, is giving way to the formative assessment.The formative assessment is systematic job, which needs the comrpehensive design capacity, involving the purposes and the functions, the content and the tolls, the implement and the presentation .Using the experiences fo the Middle School physics study assessment of other regions for references, directed by the new physics curriculum, based on the pluralistic intelligence theory, the constructive theory and the cooperative study theory, this paper focuses of the problems existing in the Middle School physics study assessment of the local region, tyring to establish a new Middle School physics study assessment system. It tries to make it nore scientific and operational so that it can make this systematic research objective, impartial and effective.This paper first in the preface gives a general view on the development of the study assessment both at home and abroad, illustrates the significance of the research on the Middle School phusics study assessment. Meanwhile it definites the relative conceptes and puts forward the basic structure of this paper. In Chaper One, on the bsis of a questionaire, it analyzes the situation of the Middle School phusics study assessment and points out the problems about it. In Chapter Two, on the theoretical analysis of the formative physics study assessment, it puts forward the theory of the formative assessment, the basic principles and the functions. In Chapter Three, on the theory of the formative assessment, it constructs the Middle School physics formative study assessment system, fixes the content of the system, and illustrates the implement of the system with a teaching case.
