With the promotion of the informatization of basic education, IT educationdevelops vigorously in middle schools, whereas the marginal position of IT teachershasn't been changed utterly. The subject is considered a 'non-mainstream subject'.Regular lessons are often diverted to other use. Teachers have complicated works,difficult promotion of technical titles, and stiff professional development. Teachers'dilemmas are eroding their lives and forbidding the steps of IT education insecondary and primary schools. So, research on marginal living state of IT teachers inmiddle schools is of great practical significance to make the staff stable, heighteninstructional efficiency, and promote growth of teachers and students.The paper takes a narrative method as its main research method. It gives anaccount of the researcher's school stories, shows middle school IT teachers' daily lifeand problems that they faced through investigation and interviews, and presents theirconfusion and puzzlement. Followed, it analyzes causes of marginal living status ofIT teachers from inside and outside. The external factors include causes such asunfitting orientation that schools give the teachers, unilateral comprehension thatstudents and the society give the course, and the internal factors include causes suchas teachers' lacking educational belief, poor independent thought and action, etc. Onthis basis, the paper discusses some cognitive mistakes about the meaning ofoccupational life that existed in many teachers (that is, to join the college entranceexamination is the only way of the IT course, and IT teachers should only changetheir jobs can they realize their value of life). Through thinking about the meaning ofIT teachers' professional life in middle schools, the research points out that joiningthe college entrance examination is only the apparent pursuit of IT teachers, whilequesting for the meaning of teaching itself is the teachers' inner pursuit.Through the research and analysis above, the paper, from the perspective ofrequirements of teachers' inner lives, provides some enlightenment and suggestions for middle school IT teachers to self-create meaningful professional life, realize lifevalue and maximize their vocational happiness. That is, teachers should learn how towork their life. They should have lofty educational ideal. They should rely on theirregular work, pursue the career as their undertakings, and seek innovation in the workand enjoy their life in the process of it. Also they should treat their environmentoptimistically, not grumble, improve the environment actively, and try to obtainself-realization.
