Today's education thinking emphasizes innovative spirit and practical ability, and promotes every student to develop comprehensively. Therefore, inquiry teaching is the best and the most efficient teaching model. Inquiry teaching theory was brought in China in 1970s and steadily pushed and widely implemented at the end of the 1990s. An important aim of the newly round of China's Elementary Education Curriculum Innovation is to change the ubiquitous passively accept learning style and simultaneously sparkplug the inquiry learning style that students forwardly participate in. It claims that 'Students will enhance inquiry and innovative consciousness, learn scientific research method and develop integrated ability of knowledge through practice. The core of current curriculum innovation is to advance diathesis education whose main battlefield is in the classroom\the curriculum and the teaching process. Cultivating the inquiry spirit and practical ability is centrally incarnated through curriculum and transformed by the teaching activity.Teaching is the chief work of teacher and improve teacher's diathesis has powerful influence to the development of students' ability. Teacher's teaching ability is an important composition of teacher's diathesis. Therefore, teaching ability is an important embodiment of teacher's diathesis. China's basal education has been developed hugely after China's innovate. The government and the society wake up to that the improvement of education can't depart from teachers and the quality of education can't depart from the advancement of the increase of teacher's teaching level. Along with the step of China's New Curriculum Innovation, inquiry teaching becomes a bright banner of it. At the present time, with the embedment of the new curriculum's ideology, conventional teaching and learning is facing very flinty test. And this is also a flinty test to the teacher's ability of inquiry teaching.However, we should see that inquiry teaching is so hotly progressing, but into the foreland teaching, its expansion is not so plain sailing compared with our dream. Not doubt there are some explicit factors, whereas into the complication of teacher, the deficiency of teacher's inquiry teaching ability is an important aspect. Therefore, for every teacher, to improve the inquiry teaching ability is a pressing problem in every teacher's front and is an important inherent factor for the teacher to improve the teaching quality. This request us to know the how about the teacher's ability and the deficiency of it. And on this base, bring forward some suggestions to improve these problems in order to do help to the worker of educational theoretic and teacher that in the foreland.My research consists four parts:The first part discusses the questions that will be studied, documents about teacher's teaching ability theory, the purpose and significance of this research.The second part is to investigate the present situation of science teaching by analyzing the teacher's questionnaire, find out the shortage of teacher's teaching ability.This part will develop from three aspects: faculty questionnaire analyzing, country and city teacher's questionnaire comparing analyzing, and teacher's accessing questionnaire;The third part is the conclusion part. Colligate all the questionnaire analysis and elicit our research conclusion: viz the teachers are short of inquiry teaching theory; inquiry teaching has not been in active; teaching implement is in big problem; prosecution of experiment course condition is bad and influence the process of inquiry teaching directly; teaching sentiment is not taken regard of seriously, and has the shape but not benefit; teacher's scientific research has to be enhanced.The forth part: countermeasure study.On basis of the conclusion, find out the problem of teachers in inquiry teaching and elicit corresponding solving strategy: viz increase the financing devotion of education especially the depressed areas; teacher training especially teachers' ideology renovation in rural area is stare in the face; teachers have to possess research consciousness and be the nucleus of the teaching research; teaching assessment is the "bottleneck" and will be an eternal topic; strengthen teacher's scientific attainment; enrich teacher's inquiry teaching theory.
