Information Technology (IT) has been widely applied in primary school Chinese teaching (PSCT). Many studies around this application, due to their macro instructions with less practical principles for practitioners, fail to be practically used and lead to the fact of inappropriate application in PSCT. This result has reduced the efficiency and weakened the characteristics of the Subject.The author intends to discuss in her thesis these existing problems of IT application in PSCT as well as the countermeasures she believes effectiveness in tackling these problems.The thesis contains three parts:First, introduction to IT in PSCT: presentation of IT concept; basic application theories of IT in PSCT; values of the application; introduction to and analysis of the present researches.Second, problematic and attributive study of PSCT: problems are listed as low efficiency and superfluity in the application of IT in PSCT; lack of subject characteristics in Chinese curriculum in the teaching; neglecting of emotional interaction between teacher and pupils; paying less attention on abstract thinking training in the teaching process, etc. Then, the author points out that all these effects originates from teachers' misunderstanding of the technology, their shortness of theoretical leaning in the field and incorrect application of the technology in PSCT.Third, proper application and countermeasures of IT in PSCT: countermeasures which stress that more weight should be attached to the conception and reasonability of IT application to PSCT. In order to solve the problems, teachers should follow certain principles such as subordinating principle; additional principle, enriching principle, beautifying principle, efficient principle, interactive principle and practical principle, etc. And relative strategies are badly needed to call for teachers' understanding of the application, to raise their professional qualities and ability of PPT (Power Point) design, so as to optimize Chinese teaching with the technology. A further case analysis supplies references for primary school Chinese teachers in hope that more practitioners can benefit from the study and improve their teaching efficiency.
