Tntegrating information technology into curricula is not only the development direction of the new round basic education curriculum reform, but also an essential means to accelerate the education modernizaltion of China.What ability structure should teachers have to facilitate the integration of information technology and curricula?How can elementary and secondary school teachers' abilities of integrating information technology into curricula be cultivated and improved?These problems call for urgent solution to further the basic education curriculum reform and education modernization.They are also the new subjects for elementary and secondary school teachers' continuation educational research.At present,there are many achievements in theoretical research and practice in information technology and curricula integration,however,most of theachievements are made in the research of integration strategies,methods and models,with little attention to the research of teachers' ability structure of integrating information technology into curricula and their ability cultivating.In view of this,the author makes a comprehensive study on elementary and secondary school teachers' competence in integrating information technology into curricula.Mainly adoptingqualitative research methods,the author attempts to identify the constituent elements of teachers' competence in integrating information technology into curricula through analyzing a large number of documents and interview results,and find the effective ways to cultivate teachers' competence in information technology and curricula integration.
