As more and more postgraduates are enrolled, the employment situation of postgraduategets difficulty. It is even more difficult for today's female postgraduates to find a proper job. Inorder to research the female postgraduate employment issue, the thesis delivers questionnaires toseveral universities in Guangzhou city, and uses comparing method to compare the orientation ofcareer choice, the process of seeking job and the result of obtaining employment between maleand female postgraduates. Then, it gets the result: it is more difficult for female postgraduates totake up an occupation comparing with the male postgraduates. There are some factors for femalepostgraduate's employment issue. The whole bad employment situation is one of the reasons.Personnel policy impacts in some degree. Social role-orientation for woman and employmentdiscrimination in the labor market is the main factor. The decline of postgraduates' quality andthe concept of career choice by female students also have effects.The issue of female postgraduates relates to the development of higher education andinfluences social progress and national development. To solve this issue, it needs efforts fromgovernment, society, university, and individual. The government can enact related law to protectthe right of female employment. The university should improve the quality of postgraduates andgive special career choice guidance to female postgraduates, help them set up a proper conceptof career choice.
