Curriculum plays a core role in school education. The objective and the value of education are mainly shown and realized by curriculum. Thus, curriculum reform is the core of education reform. In the turn of the century, basic education in China leads the reform of Quality education. And new curriculum reform is being carried through in the first-line of education like raging fire. Every teaching staff is thinking how to adapt to innovative, independent and individual education in nowadays.Inquiry is the core of scientific research, and inquiring learning is good for all-round development of students. Inquiry, an education philosophy, has developed maturely in the field of education in the West, which receives attention increasingly. As an art teaching staff, how to melt new education concept in the course of class teaching and how to convert education theory of language-oriented to realistic teaching behavior is a task urgently to be researched in the curriculum reform.The thesis chooses inquiring learning as the cut point and adopts the method of comparative analysis, positive analysis and normative analysis in order to offer a new thinking way and frame to the development of art education by the research of inquiring learning. The thesis expounds from four parts listed below. The first part analyzes the background and significance of inquiring learning and introduces the history and the actuality of inland and abroad research to grasp the main idea for the following discuss. The second part expounds the inquiring learning from macroscope and microscope these two levels to cognize the meaning and character of inquiring learning correctly, which establishes the theoretical base of this thesis. The third part gathers up the theoretical and practical problems probably occurred in the implement of inquiring learning by analyzing the four designing steps of inquiring learning. The fourth part demonstrates how to carry out inquiring learning in art class by the forms of class example.
