| The national spirit is the self justification for a nation's existence, the backbone for its development, and one of the important factors for the national comprehensive power. The education of Chinese Nation spirit, in this sense, has become one of the major sections of secondary schooling, especially, of the history teaching, a challenge as well as an opportunity for every history teacher.This thesis is based on the author's teaching practices of the reform-oriented textbooks, an unprecedented series interwoven theme history with civilization history. The author explores the national spirit education in three different ways: textbook-based classroom teaching, in forms of situation training, issue analysis and theme study; after-class activities, in forms of interest groups, school-wide moral education and various theme researches; and out-of-school activities, employing local museums, patriotism bases and other related resources.These teaching practices turn out effective and constructive, and assist the author to conclude some useful suggestions for the study and the practice of the new textbooks, which could be a helpful reference for the national spirit education based on other versions of history textbooks. |
