China is a major agricultural country with a large population. The topic of how to transfer population pressure into human resources to solve the "three rural issues" has been the focus for the education sector. It is proved that the rural poverty and peasants' poor living standard are mainly due to the poverty of the peasants' mind and their lack of practical skills. To solve this problem, education, in particular farmers' vocational education is a most practical and most effective means. This paper is aimed at the status quo and existing problems of the training course in rural secondary vocational schools for the transfer of rural surplus labor. Nowadays, more and more rural labors transfer to cities and towns and to non-agricultural industries whereas they are in urgent need of training. Based on the survey of main secondary vocational schools, rural students and enterprises, the author analyses the existing problems of the transfer training course implemented by rural secondary vocational schools as well as giving proposals and recommendations.
