In this article, methods such as interview, document analysis and qustionaire survey were used to collect date. And based on such dates we treated several questions, the interior structure of counsellors'qualities, the relation between consellors'qualities and work performance and the counsellors'personal differences on different quality dimentions. 600 counsellors were administrated, and statistic methods such as exploring factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and construction equation model were applied to analyze dates concerd. The results are as following: First, the university counsellors'qualities questionnaire meets the standard of mental mesurement well.Second, counsellors'qualities are composed of moral qualities, ability qualities, knowledge qualities and physical and mental qualities. Speaking in detail, moral qualities are comprised of expressive quality, originative quality, professional ethics and interpersonal skills; knowledge qulities are comprised of special knowledge and comprehensive knowledge; and physical and mental qualities are comprised of physical quality and mental quality. The result from comformatory factor analysis supports that dates the model fit well.Third, counsellors'qualities can predict both relationship performance and task performance, but the prediction to the former is more effective than that to the latter. Service awareness, special knowledge and organization and management ability can predict task performance effectively; moral quality, comprehensive quality and originative quality can predict devotion effectively; and interpersonal skills, expressive quality and compreshensive knowledge can predict interpersonal relation effectively.Lastly, population statistic variables produce affects on consellors'qulities. The results form t test and variance analysis show that consellors with different genders, school records, employment characteristic and length of service differ in one or several dimentions of qualities.
