Cybernetics is closely related to education, activities of cybernetics existed both in China and abroad in all ages. Nevertheless, in different times, the requirement for education is different, and the controlled objects differ too, application of cybernetics in education is still developing. Taking into account the new teaching philosophy required by curriculum reform and the characteristics of young students, the application of cybernetics in geography lessons of junior high school is studied in this paper, and is proved by teaching experiment. This paper includes the following four parts:Part 1: IntroductionWith the requirement of curriculum reform and different characteristics of young students, the background of this study, current status of the application of cybernetics in China and abroad, research ideas and methods of this paper are stated. Part 2: Cybernetics and its application in educationThe knowledge of cybernetics is introduced first, including its beginning, development, type, and method. Then the possibility of the application of cybernetics in teaching, effect, and the constitution of teaching control system are stated.Part 3: The strategy of cybernetics of geography teaching in junior high school Based on the current situations of geography lessons in junior high school, under the requirement of the curriculum reform, the strategy of cybernetics in teaching process and the principle of cybernetics in teaching are presented. Part 4: Experimental reportThe teaching experiment lasted two months, the result is analyzed, and the requirement of teachers of optimizing of cybernetics in teaching of geography lessons in junior high school is proposed.
