In recent ten years, web-based education which as a new instruction method has a rapid application and development. And also, it has had its own theory system. With a long history, traditional face-to-face class education has many advantages which web-based education can't substitute. However, both of them have their disadvantages. Blended-learning encourages the combination of their advantages, and then obtain great teaching effect with small cost. So, blended-learning is superior to a single instruction method.Blended-learning needs the support of virtual learning environment. As an open source web-based instruction platform, moodle is much better than other commercial web-based instruction platforms. How to design blended-learning based on Moodle is the primary problem which this paper will research on.In this paper, I first limited the blended-learning through analyzing different definition by scholars from China and abroad. Then, based on learning theory,education communication theory,activity theory and combined with moodle's function characteristic, the paper put forward a blended-learning design flow based on moodle.In this study, two classes of Senior One in ShangHai NO. 10 Middle School were chosen as the subjects to test the new design flow. Through collecting and analyzing the experiment data, it proved that the design flow is effective. At the same time, this research accelerates the application of moodle in school and promotes the development of open source software.
