Chinese teaching reform has been implemented for several years, but the domain of Classical hasn't been concerned much and few people focus on it. As a matter of fact, in the comparison of the accumulation of thousands of years' traditional culture of Chinese Nation and the century's teaching and application of modern Chinese, there is no doubt that which one is more important and which one is more valuable. It's of great significance of teaching Classical, for it can inherit the motherland's culture, enrich modern Chinese, enhance citizen's cultural quality, empower citizen's cultural accumulation, so as to win the examination for students. The Junior Chinese by PEP has been edited strictly according to the Chinese Course Standard and the Outline of Fundamental Education Course Reform, and has elected the model essays to the text for the hundreds even thousands years Classical, to make students learn the grammar and history, know about the motherland's traditional culture, improve aesthetic taste, cultivate personal sentiment, complete personality, enforce the national pride and confidence. However, under the great pressure of the senior entrance exam, the subject has been lightened and the junior's teachers and students are all fighting for the scores without rest. To return to the subject and to realize the real function, the strategy research of the Classical is of great importance. This paper concluded the edition style and characteristics of Junior Chinese by PEP, and come up with the related teaching strategy, with the purpose of change the deformation of the junior Classical teaching, improve the present situation of Classical teaching under the premise of inhering the long time traditional function, in order to make teacher teach happily and student study hardly, in the end leading to the success of both sides.
