The curriculum reformation of the elementary education in our country is being carried on. As an important part in elementary education, English curriculum reform has become more and more important and become a concerned problem. Classroom teaching is the fundamental mode and the most important channel of the school education. It affects not only the development of the students directly, but also the quality of the school and the implementation of the new curriculum. It is can be said that classroom teaching reform is the basis of the curriculum reform. With the development of the new curriculum, the effectiveness of the classroom teaching has become a serious and important problem now. There are many teaching modes and teaching notion which go against the new curriculum in the present English teaching in middle schools .It is time to improve the quality of English teaching and the best way to promote the teaching quality is to improve the effectiveness of English teaching. In order to carry out the new curriculum teaching scientifically and effectively all the teachers must establish some new teaching concepts to go with the new curriculum and master the teaching tactics in the new curriculum. Among them are the nation and tactics of effective teaching. So we can say effective teaching is the goal of the education, and the English effective teaching is the objective demand of the implementation of the new curriculum. So in this study the author put the English effective teaching under the background of the implementation of the new curriculum and put forward the characters of English effective teaching for junior high school students according to new English curriculum standard. At the same time, in view of the bad phenomena of the English teaching in middle schools at present and based on the English teaching instruction theories ,the paper, which is based on the achievements in effective teaching along with the micro-field of classroom teaching ,makes a research on how to carry out effective teaching strategies and promotes the overall implement of effective teaching .The dissertation consists of six parts:Part one is the preface which includes the studying reason,significance,object and method.Part two gives a brief description of the domestic and international related theories and research condition state about effective teaching .It also definites some important concepts in this paper such as"effective","effective teaching"and"English effective teaching for junior high school students."Part three presents necessaries of implementation of English effective teaching under the background of the new curriculum. It also puts forward the characters and the meanings of the English effective teaching for junior high school students according to the new curriculum standard.Part four reveals the striking problems in current English classroom teaching according to the new curriculum standard and inquiries into the causes of these problems based on the research and analysis.Part five is the core of this dissertation in which the author puts forward the strategies of improving the effectiveness of English teaching for junior high school students through three sectors as following : the preparation of classroom teaching,the implementation of classroom teaching and the evaluation of classroom teaching .At the same time, because of the important role in implementation of the new curriculum, the author also promotes some strategies about how to become an effective teacher.Part six makes a conclusion.
