Modern science and technology are advancing by leaps and bounds, thus increasingly infiltrating all levels of society. To meet the development needs of modern society, science education in some developed countries has taken on a new trend, which calls for the reform in science courses widely known to us as "Science, Technology and social education (STS)".STS education has formed a new vision of the world science education reform in recent years, which emphasizes the interaction between science, technology and society and the value in the understanding and disposal of science and technology and social relations. It also stresses the participation of students, social value, application, prospect and localization of scientific content. However, in the traditional biology teaching, teachers tend to put more emphasis on knowledge about books. Classroom teaching only stays in the preaching stage and completely neglects training the ability of students. Besides, students are accustomed to acquiring knowledge in the passive way and lacking the necessary inquiry awareness and the spirit of innovation. Therefore, the reform is deadly needed in changing the traditional mode of education. It will vigorously promote education innovation. The full implementation of STS education will become an inevitable trend in today's education reform. For this reason, in China's new high school biology curriculum reform the effective implementation of STS education, training of scientific literacy of students, and the promotion the overall development of students are considered as a core objective. This paper deals with the teaching effect of STS by the way of the implementation of STS ,the experimental study and a questionnaire survey, quasi-experimental research and observation such as the STS teaching mode of teaching practice in the infiltration. Research shows that the implementation of teaching in the STS enhances student concern about human and social issues, greatly inspiring the students to take interest in coping with the problems about science and technology and social realities as well. On the other hand, it makes an obvious effect on training students in thinking ability, practical ability and creativity. Meanwhile, there are still some problems to be solved in the real teaching with the application of the STS such as the number of students and qualified teachers and the conflicts between teacher quality and advanced teaching mode.
