Luo Zhouzhong is a noted rural reformer of basic education in the 20th century 30-40 age. He was one of the patriotic intellectual's typical representative in modern times. On the influence of the Western modern times educational reform ideological trend and the traditional patriotism thought, he had formed unique rural reform of basic education thought. Luo Zhouzhong advocated that he can reformed the Chinese general rural basic education to raise lot's of Chinese who had"Warm-blooded Character"and the accomplishmentd and ability to realize the social appearance transformation and the saving nation-state purpose. In order to realize this purpose, he went to American and studied education for children specialty. After returning, he managed the Tao kan school for a long time in Xiangxiang. He reformed the rural basic education, and stepped onto the path which reformed the education to save the nation.He considered that the Accomplishment education included"Warm-blooded Character"education and the preparatory training education before the duty and equal attention to Moral education, Sports education, Sociability education, Intellectual education and Aesthetic education. In order to realize the Accomplishment education, he thought that it's necessary to innovat the teaching method and the teaching material and the school management system and the child education philosophy, the teacher view. He thought that it must popularized the village education, increased the population of pedagogue, expanded the education influence scope, and realized the transformation of the village social convention. He stressed"the usually accomplishment","teaching others study real knowledge and study to be a really the honorable person","saving the nation must save others first,"making the school have the family characteristic".In short, Luo Zhouzhong's thought of rural reform of basic education have tremendous progressive significance, but there are many insufficiencies. His thought and the practice had tremendous influence to 30-40 age's students in Taokan and Xiangxiang, also affected 30-40 age's village elementary education reform. In educating a powerful nation and constructing a harmonious society, Luo Zhouzhong's rural reform of basic education thought is still worth us reflection and studying.
